Welcome to ColdCheck! We're here to help you communicate authentically by preserving your unique voice. This guide will walk you through setting up your account and training ColdCheck to write just like you.
ColdCheck is a voice preservation tool that learns how you write and helps you craft emails and messages that sound genuinely like you. Think of it as having a writing assistant who knows your style, tone, and personality inside out.
Getting started is simple:
Sign up with your email address
Verify your email by clicking the link we send you
Complete your profile with your name and basic information
That's it! You're ready to train your voice.
This is where the magic happens. ColdCheck learns your writing style by analyzing samples of your actual writing. The more authentic the samples, the better your results.
2 writing samples of things you've actually written. These can be:
Emails you've sent to colleagues or clients
LinkedIn messages or posts
Slack messages or team communications
Any professional writing that represents how you naturally communicate
The best samples are:
Written by you (not templates or formal documents)
At least a paragraph long (the more context, the better)
In your natural voice (casual emails work better than formal reports)
Recent (how you write now, not 5 years ago)
Varied (different topics or contexts give us a fuller picture)
Go to Voice Training in your dashboard
Click Add Writing Sample
Paste your text into the box
Add a quick note about the context (optional but helpful)
Example: "Email to a client about project timeline"
Click Save Sample
Repeat for 3-4 more samples
Once you've added your 2 or more samples, ColdCheck analyzes:
Your tone (formal vs. casual)
Your sentence structure (short and punchy vs. longer and detailed)
Your word choices (the phrases and expressions you use)
Your personality markers (humor, warmth, directness, etc.)
This usually takes just a few seconds. You'll see a confirmation when your voice profile is ready.
Once your voice is trained, you can start writing messages that sound like you. Head over to Writing Your First Message to learn how to use ColdCheck for your communications.
You can always add more samples later to refine your voice
The AI gets better as you add more diverse examples
Don't worry about perfect samples—real writing works best
